PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for startup activities of: actively participating in pre-shift meeting, receiving PM’s and work orders and getting tools ready for the day ahead.
- Employee must maintain operations by: answering calls on equipment, doing PM’s and work orders, working on breakdowns and making lists for parts as needed. Employee responsible for Cereal equipment rebuilds. Requires ability to work independently toward general results. Must originate, plan, adapt, invent and contrive to accomplish tasks. Job requires close attention to detail with work pace generally well above normal.
- Must create & maintain various forms of paperwork such as notifications, work orders, breakdown work orders as well as checking tasks and entering time in SAP.
- Maintain housekeeping in work area through sweeping, cleaning tools and shop equipment after being used and keeping work area clean.
- Must communicate to next shift by handing-off breakdown work to on-coming shifts so those employees can know what has been completed and what is left to be completed. Employee must also enter his/her time in SAP and put tools away.
- Assist department planner with tracking PM’s, work orders and requisitioning needed parts. Lead any maintenance PM’s to include working with and training operators.
- Ensure daily follow up with production and other maintenance shifts
- Write SOP’s, PM’s and LOTO procedures
- Other duties that may be assigned by department supervisor
- In addition to high school graduation/GED, needs specialized training such as apprenticeship in a trade or technical courses. Additional training beyond high school graduation is required.
- Position requires more than one-year experience on this job or related jobs in the plant or elsewhere. Incumbent is preferred to have 3 years of Journeyman experience maintaining, repairing and trouble-shooting the following: Complex manufacturing equipment, hydraulic/pneumatic drive systems, mechanical drive systems, packaging equipment, basic electrical knowledge, welding and fabrication, basic machining skills, basic computer skills as well as being able to read blue-prints (P&ID) and operate CMM (SAP/EL) computer maintenance manager.
