Position Summary, Responsibilities & Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Process/Project Engineer will provide daily operations support for troubleshooting of process and packaging equipment related to the Business Unit. Strong focus on developing and implementing continuous improvements to the systems and processes. Drive capital projects to improve safety, quality and performance of the lines/process. Support the 3-4 years Masterplan of the Business Unit based on the factory and Business roadmap 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Troubleshoot problems with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering and initiate corrective action.  (Includes Micro Investigation, Equipment Failures, Product Quality Issues, Excessive Yield Losses, Control Issues, etc)
•    Identify, plan and lead manufacturing process improvements resulting in improved product quality, asset intensity, cost savings (product yield, Cost of Quality reduction, etc.).  Strong use of Management of Change process.
•    Planning and execution of validation and verification activities including Cleaning in Place, Critical Control Point.
•    Training and knowledge transfer to all levels of operations and quality management (operator to manager)
•    Supporting new product/package introductions/ reformulations/trials. 
•    Implement capital improvement projects ensuring they are completed on schedule and within cost objectives.
•    Identify and execute projects to ensure environment sustainability related to the process area of responsibility
•    Provide Plant KPI’s of Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, Customer Service and Cost.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
•    Ability to work off-hours and weekends/holidays as needed.
•    Bachelor of Science Degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering or related field.

EXPERIENCE:
•    Minimum one to three years of experience in food processing and packaging environment.
•    Three years of experience in an engineer role highly preferred
•    Proven success in leading operations improvement initiatives through effective problem-solving and team leadership skills. 
•    Ability to organize and coordinate activities across functional departments.  
•    Hands-on development of creative solutions and approaches to issues.
•    Working knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, process/packaging equipment, and servo motors.
•    Good planning/strategic skills
