POSITION SUMMARY:

Utilizing the Focused Improvement methodology, the position will plan, design, implement and manage continuous improvement systems that ensure SMQDPC (Safety, Morale, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost).  This may include developing the improvement and/or modification of new and existing systems through implementation of capital projects for manufacturing and packaging.  

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage assigned projects from conception through installation.  Supports the identification and planning of manufacturing process, utility, and facility improvements.

Perform analysis (financial/operational) to indicate the feasibility of projects and process change.  Research and submit Capital Project requests, selects equipment, conducts contractor pre-qualifications, award bids, budgets and coordinates work with suppliers and contractors to assure completion time and within budget.

Ensure that the process equipment, material of construction and installation conform to USDA, FDA, State and Local regulatory standards and are of the sound design appropriate with existing technology.

Provide technical support to Factory operations.  Develop and lead project teams to improve process reliability, quality, and Customer Service.  Manage data collection and feedback process for projects.

All employees will support and participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM) as a part of their job responsibility within their Business Unit or as assigned within the factory.

Employee shall follow safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the safety rules, report unsafe conditions immediately, report incidents immediately or by the end of the shift, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.

Occasional travel may occur.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

Bachelor’s degree required; engineering preferred.   

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 8+ years of work experience managing complex capital projects in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment.  Aseptic, Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical industries highly preferred.

Preferred:

  • Experience using SAP and/or Microsoft Project
  • TPM experience

SKILLS:

  • Strong Project Management Skills and a specific discipline / expertise area (e.g., engineering, E&A, utilities, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data. 
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to complete major projects. Ability to develop and execute validation documents. 
  • Ability to schedule resources effectively so continuous improvement is not sacrificed for day-to-day results.
