Position Summary

 

The Training Coordinator delivers hands‑on technical training, guidance, and mentorship to new and experienced production associates, as well as certified On‑the‑Job Trainers. This role partners with Line Supervisors to coordinate training efforts that address turnover, close skill gaps, support competency development, and ensure compliance with job certifications and quarterly training requirements.

The Training Coordinator also ensures consistent training standards across all shifts by maintaining accurate training documentation and supporting continuous improvement. Through real‑time coaching, SOP reinforcement, and cross‑functional collaboration, this role helps build capability and drive strong, consistent performance on the production floor.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Deliver hands‑on training on the production floor for operations colleagues and support onboarding and orientation integration.
  • Provide technical instruction and mentorship to production associates and certified On‑the‑Job Trainers.
  • Conduct real‑time coaching to address immediate knowledge gaps or performance issues.
  • Assess individual learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and adapt training delivery in real time.
  • Partner with Line Supervisors to support high‑turnover training areas, competency assessments, and workforce development priorities.
  • Ensure training compliance for all job certifications and quarterly training requirements; identify and communicate non‑compliance risks.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensure adherence to documentation standards.
  • Reinforce SOP compliance, conduct instructional audits, and support proper execution of operational policies.
  • Support lean‑aligned initiatives, continuous improvement routines, and standard work replication across shifts.
  • Identify and recommend updates to training manuals, SOPs, and learning materials; communicate changes to Training Specialists.
  • Create and update training materials in accordance with standardized formatting and documentation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain visual competency boards and resources to support staffing and cross‑training decisions.
  • Champion digital learning tools (e.g., POKA, video‑based instruction) and support the transition to technology‑enabled training solutions.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including required overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, including rapport building, active listening, and effective coaching.
  • Follow detailed instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards to maintain a clean, organized work environment and consistent attendance.
  • Comply with all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience delivering training or instruction in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Operational, mechanical, or technical aptitude sufficient to effectively instruct production tasks.
  • Experience championing digital learning tools (e.g., POKA, video‑based instruction) and supporting the transition to technology‑enabled training.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
  • Ability to create, update, and maintain training materials using standardized formats.
  • Ability to evaluate trainee performance and provide consistent, standardized feedback.
  • Experience working within SOPs, OPI assessments, GMP practices, and other compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, effective interpersonal abilities, and a high level of attention to detail.

The approximate pay range for this position is $53,000 to $60,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
