Position Summary
 
The Team Leader will be a subject matter expert in production operations.  Must have a working 
knowledge of all job classifications within the department or work area. Must keep the supervisor informed as to 
the status of various operations and fill in during a team leader's absence. Will be required at times to perform any 
job classification within the department or work area, filling in as required, including relief on other rated jobs 
within the department or work area.    
 
Responsibilities
 
 
  
Must be able to perform all line functions within 160 days of taking position. 
Will be responsible for performing SAP/SAM/MES (production data entry) and Pillar activities.  
Insight and understanding operation principle of machines in assigned area, good in machine 
operation to sustain Line Performance as Nestle standards. 
Understand maintenance principles and do basic Maintenance tasks on shift. (manage trouble 
shooting in the shift) 
Train and coach to ensure operational competency of production operators can achieve desired level 
to proper operate the equipment. 
Transfer technical competency and basic maintenance skills to production operators.  
Responsible for seeing that work areas and/or department are maintained in a clean and orderly 
manner.  
Act as a leader on the floor.  Trains and coaches’ employees as needed.  Assists fellow employees to 
promote a shift effort to maintain Product Quality, Department Efficiency and a Safe and Sanitary 
work environment.
Performs additional duties as assigned by Management. 
All employees will support and participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total 
Performance Management (TPM) as a part of their job responsibility within their Business Unit or as 
assigned within the factory and be responsible for the successful implementation throughout the 
department. Team Leader will be required to participate and lead Problem Solving 
(GSTD/IR/DMAIC, etc.) as well as attend Operational Reviews. 
Responsible for having safe work instructions available for all positions, processes are run in 
accordance with SOP’s, SOPP’s and other documentation. All employees have the required level of 
safety training; all equipment and installations are well maintained with safety guards & devices and 
associates are using the appropriate PPE.
To ensure activities being performed having an environmental impact are communicated and 
accomplished according to the environmental management systems.  
 
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:


Job requires computer or other technical knowledge to be successful.  Performs transactions/ and or 
reports, information on a computer. High School diploma or GED required. 
 
EXPERIENCE: 
 
Previous experience in a food manufacturing or manufacturing setting preferred.  
 
SKILLS: 
 
Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.  
Effective reading, writing, communication, and computer skills.   
Ability to obtain necessary licenses/certificates. 
Working knowledge of NCE and TPM working principles and advocate of the use of TPM systems and 
tools.
