POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Associate Chemist will be responsible for understanding and implementing all relevant Nestle laboratory compliance systems and procedures. This role will be current and proactive with new and changing Nestle requirements, will develop, validate, and implement new analytical methodologies, and will interpret and communicate data trends to assist with CAPA.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compliance Systems

  • Perform and maintain rapid vs reference method monitoring
  • Implement method validations/verifications
  • Create or revise work instructions, and data logbooks
  • Monitor conformance to internal control plans
  • Order and maintain laboratory supplies
  • Research, develop, and implement new analytical methods and instruments
  • Ensure compliance to all Nestle laboratory LI’s and GI’s
  • Understand and apply all NQAC requirements to ensure compliance to Nestle standards
  • Provide support for the Compliance/Contaminant testing programs, Keeping Quality, and Stability programs

 

Analytical Methods and Tests

  • Perform routine tests and laboratory analyses
  • Interpret and implement Nestle analytical methods
  • Show competency through successful participation in Nestle proficiency test program.
  • Utilize critical thinking to troubleshoot all testing/sampling and instrument abnormalities to ensure proper reporting of results
  • Maintain lab instruments. Perform troubleshooting and minor repair.
  • Provide support for the compliance/contaminant testing, keeping quality, and stability programs
  • Prepare samples for external testing

 

Results Reporting

  • Perform peer review of laboratory data
  • Evaluate method validation/verification data and write final reports
  • Create and maintain control charting with Excel or QStat programs.
  • Review laboratory data and conduct investigations of out of specification or out of trend results.
  • Collects data independently or as part of a team and can present a data summary using Excel and charting.
  • Review and manage result reports from external laboratory testing

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, or Food Science.
  • Knowledge of analytical methods/instruments and laboratory safety.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years relevant work experience in a GMP/GLP environment which includes method development and validation
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative methods

  • Able to multi-task. Must exhibit good time management
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, etc.)
