POSITION SUMMARY:

Directly contributes to both the top and bottom line of the business by creating and commercializing new products, ensuring continuity of supply and generating/implementing cost savings.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support problem solving initiatives to correct deviations that can be driven by ingredients or processing challenges. Pull together the appropriate cross functional teams to gain alignment on remediation and next steps.  Complete conditional approvals and exceptional release documentation as necessary and gain proper approvals.  Update recipes and process conditions as necessary. Ensure that products comply to all Nestle requirements in the technical acceptance process.

Innovation/Renovation- Support the renovation of existing products.  Establish critical attribute information for Product/ingredient specifications, in-process control points and testing requirements. coordinate and conduct pilot plant trials and factory scale trials utilizing the appropriate forum (MOC- management of Change process).

Provide technical guidance for existing ingredient/vendor issues and qualify new ingredients/vendors to ensure supply to internal factories as well as Co-Manufacturing locations. Create and maintain recipes in (SAPRM) database.   Provide technical support in the Exceptional release/ conditional approval process.

Continuous improvement of technical skills and personal development. Identify subject matter gaps and ways to gain knowledge to fill those gaps.

Contribute to cost saving initiatives across the Meals and Drinks platform.  Assure customer enjoyment is maintained while reducing product cost structure.

Support the insourcing of existing products into our internal factory footprint.  Provide expertise and guidance on product formulation and process configurations to assure flawless transition and seamless transition to the customer.

 

EXPERIENCE:

0-3 years of product development experience required; preferably in food, quality or manufacturing experience; will consider internships as experience. 

BS or MS Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Strong problem solving and agility skills.
