Position Summary
The position will support various projects and initiatives within the Supply Chain Team. In this role, the individual will assist with inventory management systems, improving planning systems, and optimizing stock transfer orders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Project execution – Support the Planning, Sourcing, and Warehouse teams by performing supply chain related projects and duties:
- Develop best practices and lowest cost for inventory management of materials
- Assure on time supply of materials and help troubleshoot and resolve any supply issues
- Support Master Scheduler with capacity and forecast data, tools, and metrics
- Optimize transportation shipments through data analysis
- Work with quality team on product release
- Forecast future requirements for suppliers
- Create, monitor and track transportation shipments from inception to final delivery
- Proactively identify and implement process improvement strategies within team
- Operations Support – Analyze production planning for tracking supply of materials, order creation, and execution to material requirements planning.
- Work with planning team to optimize the use of the MRP tool
- Ensure efficient planning process to help prevent unnecessary inventory transfers
- Manage raw and pack material inventory to ensure on time delivery to production
Education Level and Requirements
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in operations, logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering, business management or related field. Achievement of at least junior status of course work. Strong preference will be given to seniors graduating in December 2022 or May 20223.
Experience
Preferred: Classroom and/or previous intern experience with SAP/APO system.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts. Experience with project management.
