Gerber Product Company seeks a Senior Manager Production in Fremont MI

 

Duties: Accountable for directing the plant production activities and leading the production team to produce and ship quality products to meet business & customer requirements. Responsible for full plant operations in the absence of the plant manager. Responsible for setting strategic direction and implementation of improvement activities for the plant. Continuous improvements focus/delivered results on: Safety, Direct Consumer Communications, Low Cost/High Efficiencies, Renovation/innovation, and Product Availability. Interprets policy and decides the best course of action in problems of quality, scheduling and interpretation of engineering requirements, particularly where interdepartmental contacts are involved, to maintain efficient operations. Coordinates with the Supply Chain Department to provide production and shipment of quality products to fulfill customer requirements. Ensure development of staff – through performance management, career development, succession planning, and coaching. Supervise Production Supervisor positions and coach on crewing and budgeting processes and changes. Troubleshoot on productivity and cost variances issues. Assist in monthly production plan layout and acts as mentor to supervisors.

 

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering and Management, Operations Management or a closely related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Food Manufacturing role. Job requires 3 years of experience in each of the following:

 

  • Working in a managerial position within a manufacturing environment with a union workforce;
  • Experience planning budget preparation, capital expenditure recommendation, manpower and space forecasting;
  • Experience analyzing production data using SAP, Digital Manufacturing Operation (DMO), Excel and  Power BI resulting in corrective actions to improve production efficiency;
  • Experience in staff development through performance management, career development, succession planning, and coaching;
  • Experience interpreting policies and  developing action plans for quality control, scheduling and interpretation of engineering requirements to maintain efficient operations;
  • Experience in continuous improvements focusing on: Safety, Direct Consumer Communications, Low Cost/High Efficiencies, Renovation/innovation, and Product Availability;
  • Experience working with factory leadership and local leadership teams to translate the factory improvement strategy into Implementation Plans to deliver the expected results.
