Position Summary:

 

The Senior Nutritionist will build, translate, and guide the application of nutrition science and knowledge to inspire and enable our Nutrition Health and Wellness (NHW) purpose. Contribute to innovation and renovation through the translation of nutrition science findings, dietary guidelines & plans, consumer needs, nutrition trends into concepts, product nutrient profiles, quality criteria, nutrition & health benefits, as well as consumer communications.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Guardian of the Baby Food Meals & Drinks portfolio evolution assessment/tracking to support the NHW strategy & advocacy requests
  • Translate the NHW Strategy into product design and apply it to inform the I&R pipeline
  • Support regulatory on initiatives related to advocacy when information is required on infant nutrition or baby food
  • Support external commitments by conducting product portfolio analyses to provide data on portfolio status and progression
  • Guide the development of new products to ensure scientific basis for nutritional concepts, nutrition communication and health claims, and develop scientific substantiation on select issues.
  • Lead and guide our Nutritional Foundation and ensure compliance of new product recipes
  • Conduct nutritional competitive analyses to build knowledge on nutritional profiles of products currently on market and identify opportunities for differentiation
  • Stay informed on emerging and current relevant scientific issues and their impact, bringing visibility to internal stakeholders
  • Initiate & develop category nutritional criteria as per category thresholds, criteria of external Pledges, aimed front-of-pack communication for new products
  • Develop scientific position papers on nutrition topics
  • Ensure nutritional education and knowledge transfer to cross functional teams across the organization
  • Participate and contribute to internal global Nutrition Network activities
  • Transfer knowledge among peers and Business stakeholders, coach and review the work and delegate to more junior professionals

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Masters or PhD Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, Life science, Food science and technology with nutrition specialization
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) , preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience

 

 

Skills:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited supervision, including ability to prioritize and deliver multiple complex tasks
  • Ability to train and transfer nutrition knowledge to others
  • Ability to leverage nutrition science to guide the development of new products, processes, and operational plans to shape the category and/or cross-category portfolio
  • Project management skills to lead initiatives in area of expertise
  • Ability to coach and develop nutrition interns
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through explanation of facts, policies, and practices
