Position Snapshot

Nestle Nutrition R&D in Fremont, Michigan is looking for a Nutrition Intern to start in May or June. We require someone with an MS in Nutrition Science (or a similar topic) and preferably with an undergraduate degree in Dietetics. Ideally, the candidate would have just completed their MS and would like to gain exposure to the food industry. It would be an advantage (but not essential) if the candidate has a background in food composition and/or early childhood feeding. The main tasks would be to:

  • Participate in cross-functional team activities to align innovation and renovation projects with infant nutrition standards and governing regulations
  • Support the global portfolio of Nestle infant products through navigation of internal information systems to complete ingredient analyses
  • Search literature and synthesize scientific writing into internal communication used to strengthen project initiatives
  • Conduct nutritional competitive analyses to build knowledge on nutritional profiles of products currently on market
  • Critically examine nutrition recommendations from global public health authorities to develop and define nutrition thresholds

What We Are Looking For In A Candidate

  • Self-starter, able to take initiative
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Familiar with FDA/USDA regulatory food labeling guidelines
  • Strong scientific writing skills
  • Proficient in professional communication and conduct
  • Experienced in using Excel functions to create interactive worksheets

The position can be 100% remote, hybrid or relocation to Fremont, MI. The internship is for a minimum of 6 months with potential to extend up to 12 months.
