Transportation Supervisor

Transportation Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Transportation Supervisor to join our Supply Chain team who will ensure the whole transportation network of Nestle through Turkey runs smoothly including delivery to customer, regional deliveries, factory and DC deliveries and deliveries of co-packers, control that the third-party services for the transport operation is on the required level with the under controlled costing, ensure that transportation service is in line with Nestlé quality, safety standards, guidelines, and best practices.

 

Main Responsibilities;

  • Agree on service requirements with Businesses and Finance and establish the targets.
  • Set targets for transport service and cost and continuously keep track on
  • KPIs close to the target values by:
  • Putting in place a structured continuous improvement approach based on the application of Tools and the implementation of Best Practices
  • Implementing, monitoring, and managing Safety, Health and Environment, Quality and CARE regulations and Best Practices
  • Ensure all Supply Operations are in in place.
  • Ensuring that legal obligations are met or exceeded (transport regulations)
  • Scheduling Inbound and Outbound flows and measuring attainment.
  • Driving cost saving initiatives to improve the performance and costs in transportation
  • Solving adequately any occurring transport issue
  • Influence Distribution Management and Customer Service to continuously improve service and cost through
  • Regular communication e.g. delivery in right quantity, at right place/ window and information that will keep customers and CS updated to manage proactively
  • Collaboration with Customers and other functional departments (customer service, warehouse, factories) to ensure an adequate level of flexibility of structures and processes:
  •  To meet ad-hoc customer requirements or to deal with unexpected
  •  Supply Chain disruptions
  •  To adapt to changes in the logistics and / or market environment
  • Ensure correct construction, control, and management of the budget for transports (cost budget for transportation and possible investment requirements)
  • Organize tenders and select the most suitable transport companies. Negotiate contracts with Procurement processes and establish a sound relationship with the service providers including robust conflict management.
  • Periodic LTT negotiation with customers and LTT calculations.
  • Track & Trace and collaborate with IT stream for Transport related system improvements
  • In case there is bottleneck in the contracted third party for vehicle supply, find alternative solutions to continue the business
  • All employees at all levels shall not endanger the health and safety of themselves, other workers, visitors, or members of the public.  They shall adhere to company instructions, procedures and systems and cooperate with the company in meeting occupational safety, health, and risk requirements.
  • Ensure pallet operation is done by expected values and ensure all the needs are in place for all sites.
  • Working closely with CSC & WH teams to improve OTD and OTIF performance

 

Qualifications required for this position are as follows;

  • More than 3 years of experience, successful operational experience at market/ business level in transportation.
  • Having good relations with transportation companies. And having established key relationship with logistics companies.
  • Relevant operational experience at market/ business level, in the following areas is beneficial: Customer Service, Sales, Warehouse Management, Other logistic companies
  • Finance: Business Planning, budget control, cost management.
  • Experience in the management of projects such as:- High Performance Logistics, - Customer Logistics, - Distribution Costing and Finance.
  • Should have been involved in strategic decision making related to transportation.
  • Fluency in English
