Facilities Maintenance Mechanic
Position Summary
- Possess good mechanical skills, troubleshooting skills, general maintenance knowledge and good understanding of operation of facilities equipment in the following areas: ammonia refrigeration system; steam system; water system; fire system; compressed air system, HVAC, wastewater, plumbing system, and building/grounds.
- Requires knowledge of equipment in the following areas: ammonia refrigeration system; steam system; water system; fire system; HVAC; wastewater; and building/ grounds.
- Knowledge of basic electricity, alternating current, and three-phase power. Able to wire and troubleshoot a three-phase motor. Capable of troubleshooting basic electrical issues using multimeter and electrical schematics.
- Recommends improvements in area of responsibility.
- Consistently applies effective troubleshooting skills. Understands and can apply root cause analysis.
- Completes cost effective troubleshooting skills.
- Interprets and understands engineering drawings, manufacturer’s instructions, and plant maintenance procedures and specifications.
- Maintains a positive working relation with fellow team members and other departments.
- Able to use and show proper care of tools and instruments required in job assignments.
- Adheres to safety, attendance, operational policies/procedures and GMP’s.
- Completes assigned work orders on a timely basis to include scheduled emergency and preventive maintenance.
- Maintains a low level of downtime on equipment and/or systems in area of responsibility.
- Solves repetitive problems in area of responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3 years of prior Industrial mechanical experience.
- Basic computer experience required.
- TPM experience preferred.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems.
- Must be willing to work days or nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Show basic knowledge of lubrication, fasteners, and correct use of tools.
- Show ability to operate and assemble equipment, make adjustments and minor repairs.
- Lifting requirements exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently.
