Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Information Technology Technician maintains reliability and functionality of in-house (factory floor and administrative) computer hardware, software, network and communication systems. Responsible for the assigned installation, configuring, development, maintenance and documentation of in-house computer software, databases and reporting systems. Coordinates in-house implementation of new and enhanced corporate directed software and hardware.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide analytical, technical and developmental expertise and support for existing and future plant computer related hardware, plant floor data collection systems and business information technology.
- Analyze, develop, document and maintain necessary in-house information and data collection systems.
- Install, configure, performance tune, administer and troubleshoot all in-house computer related hardware, software, database, network, communication and multi-media systems.
- Maintain reliability and provide continuous improvement of factory floor solutions to support the goals and objectives of the manufacturing and distribution operation.
- Respond to user's requests for new and enhanced information systems using sound business judgment. Understands business processes that utilize computer information systems.
- Work with all levels of factory personnel to help provide effective solutions to business and operational problems.
- Maintain technological skill sets as related to the plant computer systems operation.
- Participate in maintenance of and comply with company data backup, disaster recovery, software licensing, compliance, security, and authorization policies.
- Plan and coordinate local implementation of new and enhanced factory software.
- Provide demand-based off hours technical support as per departmental off-hours support rotation schedule.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience OR 2-year technical degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Technology and 3+ years of related experience
- Multi-lingual capabilities are a plus
- Travel up to 20% is required
EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge in two (2) or more of the following areas:
- Systems operations (Server, PC, Local Area Networking, SAP)
- Windows operating systems
- Cisco IOS
- Various personal computer and peripheral hardware (printers, copiers, scanners, mobile devices, smartboards, etc.)
- Familiarity with database design and query
- Familiarity with office and business information technology
