Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred.  Must have a minimum of a Class D Waste Water classification.

Experience:

Waste water treatment knowledge; experience in technical trade(s) preferred.

Key Areas of Responsibility

I.

Safety:

1.  Understand the safety risks associated with job.

 

 

2.  Comply with all safety rules, procedures, and work practices.

 

 

3.  Report all safety incidents.

 

 

4.  Has read and understands the Safety, Health and Environmental Policy

 

 

 

II.

Environmental:

1.  Understand the aspects of the job that impact the environment.

 

 

2.  Comply with all environmental rules, procedures, and work practices.

 

 

3.  Report all environmental incidents.

 

 

4.  Has read and understands the Safety, Health and Environmental Policy

 

 

 

III.

Quality:

1.  Follow recipes and deviations at all times.  Unauthorized deviations are strictly forbidden.

 

 

2.  Comply with all FDA rules, procedures and work practices.

 

 

3.  Follow all Nestle and GMP procedures.

 

 

4.  Maintain confidential information on recipes.

 

 

5.  Report all deviations from the recipe.

 

 

 

IV.

Operations:

1.  Possess good mechanical skills, troubleshooting skills, basic electrical knowledge, and general maintenance knowledge.

 

 

2.  Requires knowledge of water and wastewater systems and equipment.

 

 

3.  Capable of completing wastewater laboratory tests to include BOD, suspended solids, pH, and other tests as required. 

 

 

4.  Recommends improvements in area of responsibility.

 

 

5.  Consistently applies effective troubleshooting skills.

 

 

6.  Works with vendors and outside contractors as needed to ensure cost efficient repairs are done on a timely basis.

 

 

7.  Interprets and understands engineering drawings, manufacturer’s instruction, and a plant maintenance procedures and specifications.

 

 

8.  Coordinates the purchase and use of required chemicals.  Ensures that chemicals are used in a cost efficient manner.

 

 

9.  Able to use and show proper care of tools and instruments.

 

 

10.  Coordinates safety inspections in the area and ensures that all procedures are done in a safe manner.

 

 

11.  Completes work orders on a timely basis to include scheduled, emergency and preventative maintenance.

 

 

12.  Maintains a low level of downtime on equipment and/or systems in area of responsibility.

 

 

13.  Uses root cause analysis in determining cause of problems and in finding solutions.

 

 

14.  Coordinates the completion of required reports.

 

 

15.  Willingness and ability to learn refrigeration, boilers, and air system technology.

 

 

16.  Other duties as assigned.
