Customer Business Manager – Buying Groups

Field based role with a requirement to be in the Gatwick office 3 days a month as a minimum

Salary: £35k – £45k depending upon experience + car + potential bonus + other fantastic benefits including 12 flexible days in addition to holiday entitlement.

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Business Manager to manage existing customers and secure new business across our portfolio of Wholesale / Buying Group accounts. This is a high-profile role within the Nestlé Sales team, working with strategically important accounts - the role is about delighting our customers and delivering exceptional results.  

 

A Day in the Life of a Customer Business Manager …

Working as part of our Sales team, you will be responsible for developing customer relationships and delivering profitable volume and value growth and market share for NWUK brands, with accountably for the full P&L delivery for a defined portfolio of customers.

 

You will also be expected to keep abreast of competitor activity and market intelligence within the sector and to support with the development of the customer and channel strategy to ensure we have the tools we need to win in this area now and in the future.

 

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

 

  • Manage and develop your portfolio of Buying Group accounts through successful negotiation, effective implementation of agreements and joint business plans                                                                                                                                            
  • Develop relationships within account base
  • Focus on unlocking clearly high value in accelerate accounts
  • Construct/maintain robust defendable trading terms
  • Building effective relationships through appropriate contact strategy
  • Building and securing Internal approval of annual plans for the customers
  • Monthly monitoring of agreed annual operational plan (Volume, Total Trade Spend and Net Proceeds of Sale)
  • Monthly monitoring and presentation of key KPIs
  • Provision of effective selling tools working with CMO, and effective use of Market Data and trends
  • Providing effective in-outlet intelligence
  • Effective Trade Spend management and forecast accuracy
  • Cross functional working internally with key stakeholders across Nestlé in the Market.
  • On-going promotion evaluation where relevant
  • Volume Forecast accuracy
  • Ensure day-to-day account issues are dealt with effectively & efficiently and with customer focus
  • Develop relationships with counterparts in other Nestlé Divisions to share learnings and drive efficiency for Trade Shows etc       

 

What Will Make You Successful?

To be successful, you’ll already have some fantastic sales experience under your belt. You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic, fast moving and dynamic environment.

 

In addition, you will also have:

 

  • Proven Commercial experience in a sales role – ideally in Wholesale / Buying Groups
  • Experience of working cross functionally and building relationships across different departments
  • The ability to credibly communicate and influence using reliable data and facts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to ‘Think Customer'
  • Clear understanding of Category dynamics
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Numerate with good understanding of P&Ls
