We have a really exciting opportunity at the moment for a Customer Category Executive to join our team in Gatwick.

A day in the life of a Customer Category Executive

A day in the life as a Customer Category Executive will be so varied!  You will work with both the Pet Specialist team – supporting Specialist pet retailers – and also the eCommerce team supporting online retailers. This is an exciting role where you can gain exposure to many different aspects of the business. As a Customer Category Executive, your role is to work as part of a team to support all aspects of Category Management including delivery of range reviews, online taxonomy reviews, executing category strategy and the analysis of category data to generate insights to drive total category growth for the retailer and Nestle Purina.

Key Responsinilities include:

  • Build internal and external relationships: Be able to build rapport and trust with multiple stakeholders both internal and external within a short timeframe
  • Deliver category insights: Complete regular performance updates from multiple data sources, extracting insights and using them to identify opportunities for growth for both the customer and Purina
  • Customer Range Reviews:  Confidently build and present range & flow recommendations to retailers at range reviews, alongside merchandising recommendations to support the Category strategy as well as monitoring the success of the review
  • Ambassador for Specialist / Online: Understand the specialist & online retail environment and be a champion for the channels internally and with customers
  • Agile flexible mindset: Work flexibly across multiple teams and customers and be able to flex style accordingly
     

 

What will make you successful

You will be happy to work on several different projects at a time, prioritise effectively with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Key experience will ideally include the below however not essential:

  • Commercial Category experience
  • Data & Insights experience (IRI/KANTAR/DUNNHUMBY/I2C etc)
  • Working across multi-function teams (sales, category, marketing etc)
  • Ability to influence internally and externally with customers
  • Results driven
  • Exposure to online retailing
  • Experience making commercial decisions
  • Curious / constant learning mindset
