Position Summary

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Legal team based at our Head Office in Gatwick on a fixed term contract. This role will report directly to the Head of General Counsel & Legal services for Nestlé UK&I, and will see you work as a true strategic partner supporting some of our fantastic global businesses from a legal perspective. This role will give you the opportunity to really flex both your commercial and leadership skills by providing guidance to the Business Units you support, ensuring a best in class legal service is achieved.

A day in the life of...

 

You will act as a business partner for and sit on the UK&I leadership team of one or more of our Business Units. Playing a pivotal role in shaping the implementation of our legal strategy whilst providing tactical support that ensures the Business Unit(s) you support are able to achieve their objectives. In addition to this you will provide proactive solution oriented, strategic advice on a wide range of non- contentious issues including;

    • IP and brand portfolio
    • Competition law
    • Contracts
    • Data protection
    • General commercial law
    • Media and advertising
    • Regulatory/compliance

And importantly, you will be involved in liaising with a range of key internal and external stakeholders where building trusted, long-term relationships is fundamental to our teams success.

 

What will make you successful

 

As the successful candidate you will be a qualified lawyer coming from an in-house or private practice role. The ideal candidate will have a background in either intellectual property, competition, data protection, and or general commercial law, although we will consider other experience.

You will also have;

  • Great commercial acumen together with a practical and pragmatic approach and a thorough understanding of the competitive arena in which we operate.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively and be motivated to succeed in everything you do.
  • The right approach and experience to really support our ambition of being a world class legal function.
  • Ideally you will be 3 to 7 years Post Qualification Expreince PQE*
