eCommerce Development Manager - Sainsburys & Co-op

Salary range between £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience plus potential bonus + fantastic benefits

Our eCommerce Development Manager opportunities are pretty unique! They are exciting, fact paced as you would expect given the constant growth and change across eCommerce. We are looking for a new team member to help develop our digital thought leadership with two large Grocery customers (Sainsbury's and The Co-Op) whilst supporting the capability build across our Sales function. What we need is a fantastic commercially minded individual with experience and passion in eCommerce. That might be from a sales, category, marketing or digital background. We have high aspirations in this space so if you think you can really add value we'd love to hear from you. In return, you will have the opportunity to develop critical experiences of working directly with the two large Grocery customer’s online and trading teams on specific eCommerce projects to accelerate the overall online growth and more!

A day in the life of an eCommerce Development Manager...

This role reports into the Online and Digital Lead, and the key responsibilities are:

 

  • Lead brilliant eContent - ensure 100% compliance for images, names, search and taxonomy. You'll implement new taxonomy changes and range changes, build seasonal websites, make improvements to the look and feel of the pages including improved images and enhanced content. You'll drive organic and paid search strategy, and favourites based on Nestle insight, and accelerate our test & learn plan with the two large Grocery customers.
  • Lead eCommerce integrated strategy for the two large Grocery customers. You'll develop an online strategy using all available insight for each category to be implemented. Working closely with the customer’s commercial teams to ensure the strategies are aligned to their key priorities and focus areas, you'll ensure eCommerce is integrated in Joint Business Plan customer agreements.  
  • Lead Excellence in Online Execution - with the online shopper in mind, you'll take the lead to integrate the full year plans for each category between the brand teams, trading teams, activation (shopper) and the online team. Working with the trading teams, the online team and the retailers to build multi channel marketing campaigns to drive awareness, site traffic and sales. You'll also provide regular feedback for suppliers on progress and changes made.   
  • Lead Online Category Management - work closely with the trading teams and the online teams to analyse the available data to understand the key drivers of online performance and track key metrics for each category. This also includes contribution to the post evaluations to ensure that future activities are optimised on .com.  
  • Influencing and creating traction for projects - work with customers to understand opportunities to innovate and test & learn within the channel, providing data performance and case studies to enhance the internal business’ understanding and performance. You'll drive digital expertise and thinking both internally and externally, as well as raise awareness of our online activity and raise our profile with buyers/traders/online teams.                                                                                          

What will make you successful?

First and foremost, you’ll be a true digital native with have a huge passion for all things digital. Ideally, you’ll have similar experience in a eCommerce market within Grocery,com. You'll also:

  • Aptitude to learn and integrate learnings into a strategy.
  • Ability to work across a matrix organisation and across multiple categories and customers.
  • Be comfortable in front of customers and be able to influence decisions through engaging presentation skills.
  • A good understanding of B2C eCommerce best practices. 
  • With the ever-changing landscape of eCommerce, the ability to continually learn and adapt to new challenges the channel presents and communicate learnings along the way.
  • The ability to understand key performance metrics and convert learnings into actions.
  • Strategic and critical thinking to lead and accelerate the eCommerce journey within B2C.
  • Self-motivated to deliver on business objectives and goals and become an expert in all things eCommerce.
