Customer Category Manager – Confectionery – Out of Home

Position Summary

 

Working as part of our Commercial Development Team within Nestlé Confectionery, we are recruiting for an exciting Customer Category Manager position where you will be responsible for the development, management, and execution of our Confectionery category plans within Contract Caterers that service the Workplace channel. 

 

This is a fantastic opportunity at a very exciting time as the Out of Home market re-opens and we embark on a growth journey in the ‘new normal’ with our customers in this diverse space.

A day in the life of Customer Category Manager

 

The purpose of the role is to develop and execute Channel & Category plans and point of purchase solutions, to deliver category growth and Nestle market share, whilst ensuring impartiality and integrity with the customers.

 

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: 

 

  • Building external relationships, as you will be the first port of call and a trusted source to Buying Teams for any category questions, insight & recommendations.
  • Execution of Nestle Category Strategy and personalisation of the Category Strategy to meet the caterer/client/wholesaler needs and generate engagement and commitment.
  • Executing the Category Drivers within your customers via the delivery of our Point of Purchase (POP) Vision, through insight-based recommendations to Caterers at range reviews and throughout the year. 
  • Deliver best in class insight, engaging customers with promotional and sales insight to optimise the effectiveness of promotions whilst demonstrating a key connection to occasion based consumption.
  • Deep understanding of the Shopper behaviour within the Workplace channel and the wider Contract Catering sectors such as Education and Healthcare.
  • Lead the Category agenda within the Nestle Integrated Commercial Planning process, ensuring our internal plans are meet the external needs of our Customers and their clients.

What will make you successful

 

  • An understanding of the wider Out of Home channel - specifically contract catering and delivered wholesalers.
  • Ideally, you will have experience of front-line sales or a customer facing role in a FMCG company such as NAM/KAM/Buyer in the Foodservice arena.
  • Significant category and commercial experience, with a demonstrated record of success in delivering in a commercial category environment. 
  • Strong data analysis and insight generation experience. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally and utilise these to create successful outcomes via multifunctional teams. 
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver exceptional results. 
  • Evidence of flexibility and agility and use of initiative and different perspectives to solve challenges rapidly and often creatively. 
  • Love of learning, understanding 'why?' and ability to leverage this both externally and internally in a compelling way.
