The position has two direct reports. This is a high-profile role within the Nestlé Waters Sales Team, working with strategically important accounts - the role is about delighting our customers and delivering exceptional results.

A day in the life of a National Account Manager

 

It’s an exciting time to join the team as a National Account Manager as you’ll be responsible for managing our Cash & Carry Channel and leading a team of two Business Managers.  You will drive the leadership and delivery of a profitable market share winning plan by creating, selling and executing Joint Business Plans with the customers and teams. You will deliver on sales fundamentals of P&L management, forecast accuracy, pricing and deductions.

 

Key responsibilities include: 
  

  • The management and career development of two Business Managers
  • Creating Joint Business Plans with the customers to deliver outperformance and sustainable, profitable growth.                                                                 
  • You’ll be the face of the customer both internally and externally, building plans that are fit for purpose and working cross functionally to ensure smooth execution of an agreed plan. 
  • Ongoing knowledge of key competitor activity and market insight within the category, and support with the development of channel strategies, to ensure we have the tools we need to win in this area now and in the future. 
  • Construct and maintain trading terms. 
  • Build and develop effective relationships through an appropriate contact strategy. 
  • Cross functional working internally with key stakeholders. 
  • On-going promotion evaluation where relevant. 
  • Ensure day-to-day account issues are dealt with effectively and efficiently, and with a customer focus.  

What will make you successful

 

To be successful you’ll already have some fantastic sales experience under your belt. You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. 

 

In addition, you will also have:

 

  • Proven track record developing and motivation a team of reports 
  • Proven Commercial experience – ideally within the FMCG industry
  • Extensive experience managing at a Senior/National Account level. Cash and carry experience is essential.
  • Demonstrate building and execution channel strategies
  • Understanding of the end users across Foodservice sectors, their constraints, challenges and business opportunities.
  • Successfully delivered on KPIs, especially top and bottom-line business results
  • Experience of managing Customer investment plans, especially geared towards optimizing and driving growth. 
  • Established Customer Key Account management skills focused on collaboratively driving Joint Business plans aligned at a Top-to-top level between the Customer and Nestlé Waters. 
  • The ability to analyse complex situations, lots of data, "join the dots", build insights based on analysis and develop plans to address the opportunity.
  • Success at building relationships with all major influencers in buying decisions
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Numerate with good understanding of P&Ls
