Position Summary

The Nestlé Nutrition Team are recruiting for an experienced SMA Brand Marketing Manager to join the team at our head office in Gatwick. Reporting directly into the Head of Marketing you will be responsible for accelerating the growth of the UK SMA Business by implementing demand generation initiatives that transform how we interact with and influence consumers and Health Care Professionals throughout their respective journeys.

In line with our belief that breast feeding is the best start a baby can have in life, we are committed to ensuring that the way that we market infant formula does not undermine breastfeeding and enables the mother who cannot breastfeed, or chooses not to, to make an informed and educated choice regarding breastfeeding and the suitability of using breast-milk substitutes.

A day in the life of...

As an SMA Brand Marketing Manager you will create the SMA Brand Strategy to build awareness and recognition for SMA as a 'Force for Good' in the industry so that SMA is top of mind as a trusted brand throughout the first 1000 days. You will be working across the Infant Formula Category, channels and customers to develop consumer-centric demand generation campaigns that drive recruitment & loyalty, drive collaborative ways of working across the team in relation to Infant Formula & Growing-up Milks and embed a 'one team' mentality working in close partnership with CCSD, Insight, Digital and the Sales teams. SMA is a globally managed brand that is managed and executed locally, so you will work in partnership with the SBU to build the brand now and for the future. Whilst leading and motivating the team you will also:

 

  • Ensure the voice of our target consumer is driven through every aspect of brand execution - packaging, communication; both on and off line & activation.
  • Oversee flawless development and execution of brand building tools, not limited to consumer portrait and consumer engagement funnel for the brand.
  • Manage the full mix, packaging, innovation and CSV related to the brand whilst optimizing the end-to-end costs.
  • Keep track of share and key consumer/shopper KPIs at market level, providing insight and according actions to the wider team
  • Ensure consumer centricity, representing the UK consumer in strategic business discussions - contributing to the MBS
  • Ensure rigorous alignment and execution of strong brand and ICP plan across UK GD and zone stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute communication & media strategy for business priorities
  • Track and monitor the performance, health and strategic alignment.
  • Understand business impact of PFME and trade investment of the brand.
  • Manage the full P&L of the SMA Portfolio
  • Work in partnership with communication agencies, Marketing Communications and other key stakeholders to deliver SMA brand communication strategy ensuing all brand communication contributes to enhancing the brand image and performance.

To be successful in this role you will already have a breadth of fantastic marketing experience under your belt, having successfully managed a brand locally and/ or at Zone/SBU level. You will be passionate about infant nutrition and service, highly results focused, have the ability to lead through complex challenges and feel comfortable with ambiguity. Pro-activity and enthusiasm are essential elements for this role as is proven leadership capability and creative thinking.  You’ll also:

 

  • Have the ability to influence at senior levels both internally and externally.
  • Have strong coaching skills and enjoy seeing the collective results from a team
  • Be able to run sizable projects and work streams from concept to delivery.
  • Have prior knowledge of running multi-pronged communications programmes.
  • Have strong experience in creating and activating digital marketing strategies as well as what it takes for a brand to win in E Commerce.
