Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience + 17% car allowance + potential bonus + fantastic benefits

Position Summary

Here at Nestle UK&I our Beverage division are looking to recruit an experienced commercial lead to join the team based at our Gatwick offices. This is a fantastic leadership role that will see you lead the commercial strategy for our Nestlé Dolce Gusto (NDG) and Starbucks portioned coffee (pods) business.  A key part of this role involves developing and executing the category and commercial strategy to maximise availability and visibility of all Nestlé portioned beverages and coffee machines. This part of our business continues to show strong growth potential, and hence attracts significant resource to build and deliver winning plans.  We are ideally looking for somebody with a breadth of commercial experience across sales and category to help us achieve our ambitions.

A day in the life of...

It’s fair to say this is a varied commercial role that will see you work with a wide range of senior stakeholders both at a local and global level. Playing a key role on a well-established leadership team you’ll also lead the channel strategy for coffee pods and coffee machines, by developing a strategy that delivers on our big ambitions. Being accountable and able to proactively deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, financial and market shares targets is key.

 

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of the Omni-channel category strategies that deliver customer and segment growth for coffee pods and coffee machines. 
  • Work closely with the insight team to develop clear category growth plans in conjunction with customers, having a deep understanding of customer priorities, to allow flawless activation instore and online. Having the ability to anticipate trends, market evolutions and deliver market share targets.
  • Develop and lead the execution of pricing and promotional plans, providing the appropriate toolkit to enable Nestlé’s sales team to propose robust plans to customers. 
  • Lead the monthly business planning process from commercial reviews to category reviews, tracking against the full year commercial plan, whilst identifying risks and opportunities to course correct or maximise plans for growth.
  • Lead the integrated commercial planning process for portioned coffee: channel and customers prioritisation and targets, identifying key opportunities, developing, solutions to differentiate with customers and ensuring precision around range and distribution by customer, including innovation and range management 
  • Work closely with retailers to bring plans to life and support the category and sales team’s delivery excellence and growth. 
  • Lead a team of 3, to develop their capability, helping them to achieve their career aspirations by ensuring support is in place to develop inspiring career plans.

What will make you successful?

To be successful in this role, you will have some fantastic commercial experience under your belt and experience of working in an FMCG environment previously.  You will have experience of working within a matrix environment and you will be passionate and results focused. Acting as an ambassador for the Nestlé Dolce Gusto and Starbucks brands you will be able to demonstrate proven leadership capability, coupled with your ability to influence across all levels. You’ll also:

 

  • Have experience of working with and developing customer relationships, having a detailed knowledge of commercial planning and category strategy development. 
  • Understand the digital landscape and how this is evolving to support the long-term growth of our brands. 
  • Be able to manage investment budgets to support the delivery of the commercial ambitions for the business.
  • Be comfortable presenting and developing relationships internally and externally across all levels. 
  • Have a continuous improvement mind-set to drive change, enabling us to be the best we can be in this area.
  • Have experience of training and coaching to develop commercial capabilities across your team
  • Demonstrate a pragmatic approach with the ability to operate and execute at pace.
  • Be able to showcase your leadership experience to inspire and develop people, enabling them to be the best that they can be.
