Position Summary

 

We have an excellent opportunity to join our Nestlé team as a Third-Party Quality Manager based from our head office in Gatwick or with regular travel from our York office.

 

Third Party Quality is a fast moving, complex and ultimately very interesting area of quality – there is no typical day!  Our role is to ensure non-UK producers deliver safe, legal compliant products and to provide expert Quality input to the business categories.

A day in the life of a Third-Party Quality Manager

  

You will lead as the face of Nestlé Quality to Contract Manufacturers and Nestlé business categories.

 

  • Ensure the third-party audit program is maintained up to date and non-compliances are closed out in a timely manner
  • Prepare and validate product specifications / manufacturing dossiers and quality standards with third parties ensuring legal, regulatory and food safety compliance
  • Contribute to the product brief process for new and existing products of imported and exported lines, ensure the relevant quality information is
  • attached
  • Manage Third Party Quality SPI's information, including QMS, allergen control and Nestlé compliance rules
  • Lead quality review meetings with third parties and visits as required, discussing past performance and establishing requirements for future performance. Liaise with Third Parties to develop action plans for Continuous Improvement in liaison with Third Party Product Supply
  • Analyse defect/consumer complaint information and other quality information resulting from third party products
  • Successful management of quality incidents (including IMS issues), minimising negative impact to the consumer and the business, minimum financial loss, minimum production loss and maintenance of customer service. Drive root cause analysis and completion of corrective actions, including Quality Briefs from other incidents within Nestlé
  • Create and implement the nutritional compliance and packaging surveillance plan for third parties, identifying cost reduction opportunities where applicable. Liaise with Group Packaging experts, packaging technologists and third parties to ensure the plans are adhered to
What will make you successful

 

  • Degree level Scientific / Food Science qualifications would be desirable
  • Ideally Food Hygiene level 3 or relevant experience
  • HACCP level 3 or relevant experience is desirable
  • Must have experience as a lead auditor for ISO9001 or ISO22000 
  • Understand the application of Food Safety Systems and HACCP across ingredients/products, manufacturing technology and practices across product categories
  • 3-5 years’ experience in relevant operational area (manufacturing or quality), including a minimum of 2 years in quality
  • Internal/ External quality systems / Food safety auditing
