POSITION SUMMARY:
Accountable for all areas of Aseptic Process Engineering and equipment maintenance. They will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the following equipment:
- Aseptic filling and auxiliary services
- Preform Injection Machines and Blow Molding Equipment
- Environment and operational safety for all areas above.
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
- Lead, design as per Nestlé Good Hygienic Engineering principles, installation, start-up, and commissioning at pre-determined guaranteed performance, all the equipment and lines included in their area of responsibility.
- Responsible for technical support of aseptic filling and sealing operations and PET bottle manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate with other functions: quality, operations, and environment/safety, to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulation in the filling of aseptic products.
- Participate in and conduct any or all the following types of validation:
- Process Validation
- Bottle/Cap Aseptic Validation
- Aseptic Process Simulations
- Provide technical expertise, problem solving, project management, and coaching of peers and other staff.
- Responsible for improvement initiatives that define equipment data, equipment capabilities, utilization, efficiencies, and obsolescence in his area of responsibility.
- Subject matter expert and provide leadership in the areas of Aseptic process.
- Manage the engineering and optimization of the following in his area of responsibility:
- New technology
- Process development and optimization
- Identification and qualification of alternate sources for raw materials and components.
- Equipment qualification
- Develop/promote support strategies for key OEMs and maintain robust relationships.
- Provide technical perspective during internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and due diligence.
- Responsible for managing contractors, as required, meeting project and budgetary expectations.
- Author and review documents including Preventive Maintenance plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Batch Records, Material Specs, and other forms. Author and review validation and change control documents such as master plans, protocols, summary reports, and change requests.
- Develop project justification and engineering proposals including providing input for capital planning process.
- Work collaboratively with other Engineers, Technical Community, and global colleagues.
EDUCATION:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Food Engineering. Emphasis in food and beverage industry
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in Low Acid Aseptic Filling Technology in a food and beverage factory.
- Experience in engineering and maintenance of high-speed rotary aseptic filling technology using PET bottles.
- Experience in managing the application of PAA in aseptic filling process.
- Able and willing to work flexible hours.
- Able to travel nationally and internationally.
Preferred:
- Experience in factory maintenance and process engineering.
- Proven experience in process control solutions for their area of responsibility.
- International work experience.
- Knowledge on PET bottle manufacturing.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Good organizational/administrative skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- High proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Competent design knowledge. AutoCAD knowledge.
- End to end Capital Project Management.
- Process qualification, validation in the pharmaceutical, beverage, or food industry - IQ, OQ, PQ.
- Knowledge on FDA & GMP/GAMP regulation.
