Position Summary

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Automation (E&A) Engineer to join our team at the Gympie factory where we make our iconic coffee brands NESCAFÉ and INTERNATIONAL ROAST.

 

In this role, you will provide leadership, technical expertise, and ownership of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Electrical and Automation (E&A) systems within the factory, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all E&A assets. This role is accountable for ensuring that all MES–E&A systems contribute to business performance while never compromising safety, quality, or environmental compliance.

 

A day in the life…

 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and driving continuous improvement and project delivery, key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Participate in Capital Investment projects, ensuring that the technical solution are delivered within the expected quality standard, timeline, and budget.
  • Prepare user and technical specifications, coordinating the requirements of the main users (production, quality, etc.), the follow up of the solution development, the pre-test, implementation, and training of operators and maintenance crews.
  • Must fully understand the technical details of the MES-E&A solutions in all projects.
  • Ensure Process & Equipment safety for people, products and environment and that one exhibits an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations.
  • Ensure that the Change Management is in place to appropriately manage modifications in the MES-E&A solutions.
  • Ensure the application of the market and local MES-E&A related legislation (i.e. electrical, calibration, etc). Comply with Nestle internal engineering functional compliance audit (EFCA), which includes equipment calibration, hazardous area compliance, electrical compliance.
  • The MES-E&A engineer must have a deep insight of the processes, and continuously strive for the improvement of quality, safety or efficiency while protecting the technological know-how and competitive advantage.
  • Participate in the implementation of engineering tools at site level (i.e. NSAT, NEST, AMM, etc.).
  • Ensure that all MES-E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards.
  • Ensure that the key MES-E&A documentation is up to date and in place (i.e. SLD, URS, FDS, Calibration procedures, etc.). Participates in the M&I activities in the factory.

  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team player with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering in relevant field (Electrical / Automation / Mechatronics)
  • 4+ years in similar, complex electrical and automation leadership role, preferably in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience participating in the development of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferably including different products and technologies in Electrical and Automation areas)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills; experienced in leading technical teams and contractors preferred.
  • Experience in the start-up of technical equipment and/or production lines.
  • Ability of Self-Management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them
  • Exposure to Total Productive Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance Planning and/or maintenance execution desired, but not required.
