POSITION SUMMARY

Rooted in a rich railroad heritage, Hager City is one of our two factories in Wisconsin—located across the Mississippi River from Red Wing, Minnesota and about 250 miles from our location in Jefferson. Over 50 dedicated associates come together to produce wet and dry coatings for our pet food brands nationwide, making this location truly special. We also work to do our part to care for the environment we share, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, and maintaining zero waste for disposal. Just a stone's throw away from Red Wing, Minnesota, enjoy stunning Mississippi River views and a vibrant array of dining and shopping experiences. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you’ll play a key role in Continuous Improvement initiatives for the Hager City factory. By leading optimization and capacity improvement initiatives for existing lines, you’ll help reduce losses and waste. You’ll also manage high-priority capital projects from beginning to end, including concept, scope, estimate, cost, resources, and funding. In this role, we’ll count on you to be the voice of your larger team as you coordinate cross-functionally with leaders, employees, and contractors in the successful management and execution of key projects.

 

  •  Develop, implement, and coordinate the capital budget to improve and maintain equipment and facilities
  •  Develop design/solutions in accordance with engineering safety, production, sanitary, and accounting procedures and specifications
  •  Direct the installation of new equipment and/or modification/rearrangement of existing equipment for assigned projects
  •  Monitor outside contractors to assure compliance with all company standards including sanitation, safety, quality, productivity, and budgeting
  •  Prepare estimates, schedules, and issuance of all documents/drawings for construction on assigned projects
  •  Evaluate bids, award contracts, and issue purchase orders and provide engineering consulting service to business teams

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment

 

Other

  • 1+ years of capital project or budget management experience preferred

The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000 - $128,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
