Position Summary

 

The Electrical, Automation & MES Manager is responsible for ensuring the achievement of factory electrical compliance and KPIs through the development of the workforce and the appropriate application of technology whilst adhering to company policies and statutory regulations. This is an exciting management role that will have a key influence in delivering automation and digitalisation on site.

 

A day in the life of an Electrical, Automation Engineering Manager

 

  • Ensure that all LV and HV maintenance is carried out in accordance with both UK and Nestlé regulations.
  • Be the custodian of the digital roadmap, including DMO module role out, Scada migration / development.
  • Lead the automation strategy ensuring factory can drive its cost competitive edge.
  • Act as site owner for compliance with regards to  machinery and functional safety to support the factory.
  • Act as Senior Duty Holder for Halifax ensuring that Electrical Duty Holder and Assignees have the appropriate competence and aptitude and are appointed. Engage with the Electrical Working Party to ensure a standardised approach across NUK
  • Take the ownership on factory / departmental projects – example looking to upgrade obsolete control systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets to ensure statutory and company requirements for electrical maintenance and compliance are met 
  • Look for ways to reduce electrical energy. When projects are carried out, ensure that the interfaces with electrical engineering are well managed and that following implementation, all documentation is updated as necessary.
  • Act as the contract manager for various electrical 3rd party contracts
What will make you successful

 

  • Degree or NVQ 4 equivalent in a relevant electrical engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years practical engineering experience and management at supervisory level. 
  • Demonstrable experience working in Automation and/or MES engineering with Electrical experience within a manufacturing environment (preferably FMCG) 
  • Ideally experience delivering on digitalisation within manufacturing (i.e. Industry 4.0)
  • Ideally managing safely and Intermediate food hygiene
  • Previous experience of utilities plant and project management preferable.
  • Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution desired but not required
