Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Nestlé team as a Labour Coordinator at our factory in Halifax.
The Nestlé Halifax Factory in West Yorkshire is the home some of the UK’s most iconic confectionery brands including Quality Street and After Eight. Join our team and become a part of the legacy behind these beloved brands.
Manufacturing in Nestlé is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business in order to maximise efficiency & productivity.
This is particularly critical as we continue our journey towards being a LEAN Enterprise. This is the biggest change in the way we work that Nestlé have ever seen. It’s worldwide. It is exciting. You could play a key part in it.
A day in the life of Labour Coordinator
As a Labour Coordinator you will be responsible ensuring labour planning is delivered for the factory in an effective and cost-efficient way. Duties include:
- Use of the local labour planning system (DLM) and associated GLOBE to ensure appropriate Nestlé skills are available for the relevant shifts.
- Demonstrate a highly developed understanding of Microsoft Office and the ability to extract data.
- Demonstrate a tenacious and dynamic approach with the production of effective reports for factory Managers.
- Work under pressure with various last-minute changes and disruptions from planners, Managers and Operators.
- Challenge process’s and show a dynamic approach to problem solving, always ensuring fairness & consistency.
- Liaise with the relevant Shift Managers and Supply Planners to ensure the latest production plan is supported.
- React to multiple plan changes at very short intervals.
- Record and maintain site attendance spreadsheets, offline spreadsheets, overtime spreadsheet and balance of hour's data.
- Represent labour planning in factory DOR / WOR and organising overtime with operators.
- Consider shift patterns, fair allocation of overtime, skills, training, holiday cover, absence, Terms and Conditions and Working Time Directive guidelines to deliver the plan.
- Maintain holiday and overtime/offline data within the system.
- Effective use of “Additional Hours” contracts ensuring timely consumption.
What will make you successful
The person that is successful in this role will confident and be able to challenge in an effective manner. You will be able to use a variety of different IT systems and have strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure. You will need to be tenacious and dynamic in finding solutions to ensure we can deliver the required production plan, and be able to cope under pressure with various last-minute changes that can result in re-planning numerous times.
Other attributes would include:
- Proven ability to deal with people at all levels
- Initiative and innovative new ideas to drive labour planning forward
- A confident and courteous telephone and face to face manner
- Competent & confident in use of GLOBE and all MS Excel systems
- Understanding of Manufacturing and Supply Planning inter-relationships.
- Good planning and forecasting skills to maximise efficiency.
