We have an excellent opportunity to join our Nestlé team as a Quality Systems Manager at our factory in Halifax. In this role you will work as part of a team working towards achieving common goals and have responsibility to take a lead in the delivery of key quality objectives. We are looking for someone to provide support and direction to the factory to ensure compliance and continuous improvement of the factory quality system and processes.

 

Nestlé Halifax Factory in West Yorkshire is the home of the iconic confectionary brand Quality Street amongst several other well-known brands such as Quality Street and After Eight. These are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines.

Your Impact

 

In the role of Quality Support Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the quality team to produce safe, compliant and a “First Time Right” product. You will have ownership of the sites quality systems and external audits, supporting the Quality Manager in reviewing and planning quality improvement across the factory.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Quality Assurance Compliance: Contribute as a key member of the factory Quality Assurance team, working with the team and wider factory to ensure compliance with the Nestlé quality system.
  • Quality Improvement Planning: Collaborate with the Quality Manager to review and plan quality improvement initiatives across the factory, identifying trends and themes to focus efforts on top issues.
  • Product Release and Documentation: Review manufacturing records and conduct routine releases of finished products, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Expertise and Support: Provide expertise in the Nestlé quality system, ensuring a common approach across all areas and supporting the factory Area Quality Managers.
  • Process Management and Training: Manage key quality processes, such as sensory management, internal audits, document control, and third-party audits, while also acting as a GLOBE QM superuser to provide training and conduct regular health checks.

 

Your ingredients for success

 

To be successful in the role of Quality Support Manager you will have proven experience within quality assurance roles in a factory/FMCG environment, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

 

Key Skills and Experience:

 

  • Educational Background: Ideally holds a degree or equivalent in a Science, Engineering, or Quality-related subject.
  • Quality Management Systems: Ability to evidence working with and improving Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 / FSSC 22000).
  • Continuous Improvement and Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work with a continuous improvement mindset and engage with multiple stakeholders across the factory setting to influence quality practices.
  • Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Ability to take a process, retrieve data, and identify opportunities and trends, with PowerBI knowledge considered an added advantage.
  • Additional Technical Skills: Proven SAP skills, ideally in factory or quality aspects.
