Halifax

Position Summary

 

We have a number of opportunities for talented, driven individuals to join our Nestlé Confectionery business within our Halifax factory. As a Standard Operator you will be helping to produce some of the nation’s favourite confectionery. 

 

The shift pattern at Halifax is a 12-hour rotational shift which consists of either a 6 day or 7 day pattern.  There are multiple opportunities available. These are permanent contracts we have multiple contract types on offer (all contract types allow for annualized pay across the full year with no break in service and will be discussed as part of the interview process)


Nestlé Halifax Factory is the home of Quality Street and After 8 Confectionery products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. 
 

A day in the life of...

 

Your main accountability will be to achieve performance targets by operating machines and systems. In addition to this you will be ensuring that the process runs at its optimum; producing high quality product and coordinating actions where necessary on your line. 

 

Other key responsibilities will include: 

 

•    Ability to work as part of a team to delivery high quality products. 
•    Ensure high safety and quality standards are adhered to. 
•    Approach work with a continuous improvement mind-set. 
•    Support with factory activities in order to achieve KPIs 

 

The role will also require adaptability and flexibility as you may be required to work in different areas at different times. 
 

What will make you successful

 

The successful candidates will be thorough, professional and care about the safety of themselves and others. 
You will need to demonstrate you care about delivering high quality products at all times and have a good understanding of Good Manufacturing Principles. You will be able to demonstrate ownership, high levels of results focus and strong communication skills. 


We are looking for people who enjoy solving problems and exploring how things work, whilst continually thinking of new ideas to improve safety, quality and performance to meet consumer needs.


You will also have:


-    A minimum of GCSE Math and English grade C or above
