Position Summary

We are looking for a Production Officer to support day-to-day manufacturing operations at our Harare Factory. The role is responsible for executing production activities in line with safety, quality, cost, delivery, and compliance requirements, while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

A Day in the Life of a Production Officer

 

  • - Execute daily production plans in line with agreed targets for safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • - Ensure full compliance with Nestlé Quality Policy, Food Safety standards, GMP, and SHE requirements.
  • - Monitor production processes, identify abnormalities, and take prompt corrective actions.
  • - Lead and supervise operators on shift, ensuring discipline, adherence to standards, and engagement.
  • - Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • - Apply Nestlé Manufacturing Excellence (NCE/TPM) principles to drive efficiency, eliminate losses, and reduce waste.
  • - Ensure accurate completion of production documentation and shift handover reports.
  • - Escalate safety, quality, or operational risks in a timely and structured manner.

 

What Will Make You Successful

 

  • - Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
  • - Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • - Sound understanding of production processes, food safety, quality systems, and safety standards.
  • - Exposure to NCE / TPM / Lean tools is an added advantage.
  • - Ability to manage people on shift and work effectively in a structured, performance-driven environment.
  • - Willingness and flexibility to work rotating shifts.
  • Strong discipline, execution focus, and commitment to safety and quality.
