Position Summary

 

Our Hartwell, Georgia, factory measures an impressive 500,000 square feet. It represents our most versatile facility to date, enabling us to switch product lines with greater speed and efficiency. Together, we take immense pride in producing and distributing the brands that our customers trust and that bring joy to pets' lives. As a Controls Technical Specialist II, you’ll provide control system support for day-to-day manufacturing operations through software upgrades, electrical and controls troubleshooting, and more. You will play an active role in capital project implementations and support initiatives to drive continuous improvement. Finally, you will identify and develop controls system solutions that comply with all requirements at all levels of project development including hardware and overall electrical design.

 

 

  • Ensure the group’s work is prioritized and completed properly, efficiently, and in line with project timelines.
  • Design, test, install, and troubleshoot controls system software and hardware upgrades utilizing structured text and ladder logic.
  • Create documentation such as hardware specifications, descriptions of operations, electrical bid specs, ladder logic descriptors, and back-ups.
  • Train Production Operators, Maintenance Technicians, and other staff on operation, troubleshooting, and improvement of controls systems as needed.
  • Develop project scopes and estimates while providing planning, scheduling, and prioritization.
  • Create PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions for plant operation aligned with all safety and company standards.

 

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PLC-based HMI systems.

 

OR

 

  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • 3+ years’ applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PLC-based HMI systems. (positions such as Process Control Technician, Industrial Technician, Engineering Technician, Production Technician, Manufacturing Engineering Technician, PLC Programmer, Engineering Technician PLC, Industrial Automation, or other relevant position).

 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $74,000.00 - $103,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
