POSITION SUMMARY

At Nestlé Purina PetCare, we’re a “safety first” culture, driven by a zero accident, zero defect, zero waste mentality.  As a Controls Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing the accuracy, reliability, and system control’s data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. In this role, you will complete PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment. You will work directly with our Maintenance Team and our Controls Technical Specialists to execute projects such as production line troubleshooting and modification.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the development, implementation, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation, control, and electrical systems.
  • Perform system start-ups and operational checkouts on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding, and power testing.
  • Reload and reboot PLCs and fanuc robots to restore faulted equipment after power outages.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on electrical and control systems.
  • Provide hardware and software application support assistance to maintenance, engineering, and operations.
  • Utilize technical materials such as manuals, Process and Instrument Diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
  • Support creation and implementation of training around the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of integrated controls and information systems.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • MUST BE OPEN TO ALL SHIFTS.

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 1+ years’ applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI-systems in an industrial, manufacturing, military, or related environment.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $44,000 - $73,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
