Position Summary

As the Controls Engineer, you are responsible for providing controls engineering leadership and support to the Manufacturing teams, Engineering team members, and Maintenance team members, to provide continuous improvement efforts on automated manufacturing processes and equipment. In this role, you will directly work with the Plant Controls Group, specifically with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA data acquisition, and instrument calibrations. You will design and/or approve electrical installations in accordance with proper codes and standards, and provide technical oversight to ensure reliability and performance of electrical power distribution systems for the site.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support for the factory.
  • Assist in scope development, requirements, and objectives for control system/electrical related projects.
  • Develop and maintain the factory long term electrical and controls infrastructure plan.
  • Lead in maintaining up-to-date and complete electrical and controls as-built documentation.
  • Ensure proper filing documentation of (manuals, diagrams, instrument data sheets, software packages/licenses).
  • Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with controls systems or electrical design in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment.
