Position Summary

 

Our Hartwell, Georgia, factory measures an impressive 500,000 square feet. It represents our most versatile facility to date, enabling us to switch product lines with greater speed and efficiency. Together, we take immense pride in producing and distributing the brands that our customers trust and that bring joy to pets' lives. We support local pet shelters and rescue efforts, as well as engage in education and hunger relief programs, ensuring that we make a positive impact beyond our factory walls. As a Safety Specialist, you’ll assist the Safety and Health Manager in implementation of policies and programs necessary to fully comply with Nestlé Purina PetCare “Safety” Programs and Loss Control objectives.  Provide training and ensure proper communication at all levels of the plant to achieve full preparation in the Safety and Health programs and compliance with necessary regulations. Make an impact as you act as a resource to all departments in the plant to provide safety and loss control support.

 

  • Gather data and analyze reports, including stoppage analysis and other production line data.
  • Analyze SH&E conditions and behaviors for recommendations to continuously improve Site SH&E performance to world class levels.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures (SOP's) to ensure Site compliance with company and regulatory agency policies, including federal, state and local legislation and regulations pertaining to Safety and Health.
  • Collaborate across value streams and provide coaching to ensure overall data health within the facility.
  • Administer training programs associated with safety and health including “train the trainer” sessions to build capability of line supervision.
  • Implement and promote Focused Improvement methodologies, leading and supporting Focused Improvement projects and sponsoring IWGs within the facility.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in safety in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, military or related environment

 

Other:

  • 1+ years' industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military or related environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $59,000.00 - $93,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
