Position Summary  

 

As a Category Development Manager, based on shopper, channel and category understanding, you will develop and co-implement the category channel agenda within the business to support long term category growth and profitable growth as well as increase market shares.

A Day in the Life of a Category Development Manager

 

  • Drive shopper, channel and category focus for Hypermarket, Supermarket, Discounter, Cash & Carry and eCommerce
  • Define and implement channel strategies and plans (through ICP) that deliver category growth based on channel and customer understandings and requirements, as well as key challenges and opportunities
  • Category management initiatives with key customers
  • Increase trade promotion effectiveness and efficiency
  • Develop effective branded or category shopper campaigns based on defined objectives
  • Coordinate and present the Field Sales Force cycle plans 
  • Develop key arguments and material (e.g. salesfolder) for customers

 

What will make you successful

 

  • University degree or equivalent (HEG, etc)
  • 4-5 years’ experience in category management, sales, marketing, finance, statistics and/or DSP
  • Experience in FMCG in the Swiss market
  • Advanced understanding of shopper, market Intelligence sources (AC Nielsen), category/channel/shopper trends
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in German, French, English
