As Communication & External Relations Manager, you will be reporting to the Business Executive Officer Waters Switzerland and in close collaboration with the National, Regional & Global Corporate Communications department, Environment manager and management committee, you will drive effective corporate communication externally and internally to enhance and strengthen Nestlé’s reputation, respected and trusted by all stakeholders.  You will promote Nestlé’s Regeneration initiative as a fundamental business principle and act as a ‘trusted advisor’ to the BEO in reputation matters. Furthermore, you will create an atmosphere that fosters positive attitude of openness, engagement, and exceptional performance to achieve strategic business objectives.

A day in the life of a Communication & External Relations Manager

 

  • Manage the company's external relations with a focus on key business priorities: Business updates, Sustainability…
  • Respond to media queries and develop relationships with local and international media 
  • Prepare and advise BEO/Mancom for their media activities, developing storylines, messages, Q&As and ad hoc briefings
  • Anticipate executives’ needs for media training and organize adequate sessions
  • Define and implement concepts for media activities and corporate PR programs
  • Manage content across different platforms including social media, print, audiovisual and electronic
  • Be in support of various stakeholder engagement activities, including creating synergies with other functions and roles
  • Ensure regular dialogue and alignment with Nestlé Waters and Nestlé in the Market communication and media relation functions and provide Nestlé Waters content for Nestlé media and stakeholder outreach
  • Own the lead in crisis communications
  • Lead the Sustainability agenda, strategic development, stakeholder engagement & program activation

What will make you successful

 

  • University degree 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an event management, corporate communications or public relations environment, ideally in FMCG
  • Experience in leading strategic development of communication strategies and programs
  • Strong project management skills with implementation on time and on budget 
  • Understanding of the food industry and its related issues, legislation, opportunities, and challenges would be a plus
  • Trilingual French, German (Swiss-German) and English, Italian a plus
