POSITION SUMMARY
Lead provincial efforts to advance Common Code for the Coffee Community (4C) certification and implement sustainability standards (Nescafe Better Farming Practices (NBFP), Good Agriculural Practices (GAP), EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by delivering training programs (Train of Trainers (ToT) and Farmers Field School (FFS) to farmers, collectors, and traders. Support the ASD Manager in driving green coffee sustainability practices under the Nescafé Plan Vietnam, including traceability, data quality, documentation, and digital tool adoption. Collaborate with Nescafé Plan agronomists to execute actions across provinces and coffee value chains in the Central Highlands, ensuring efficiency and accuracy of sustainability metrics.
A DAY OF LIFE OF AN AGRONOMIST
- Provide technical support to farmers on coffee rejuvenation across all provinces and assist ASD activities in Dak Nong.
- Plan and organize training courses on coffee cultivation and Nescafé Better Farming Practices (NBFP), with emphasis on rejuvenation, replanting, and crop care techniques.
- Conduct regular farm visits to monitor progress and provide guidance.
- Oversee plantlet registration, production, and distribution in assigned provinces in close collaboration with WASI.
- Ensure compliance with GI-32-005 standards and meet required volumes of plantlet distribution.
- Maintain full traceability of plantlets through Koltitrace.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including MARD, DARD, WASI, national authorities, farmer associations, trade partners, and NGOs (e.g., 4C, RF).
- Collect crop data and conduct farm income surveys.
- Perform monitoring and evaluation (M&E) analysis and forecasting to support decision-making.
- Budget & Resource Management
- Manage operational budgets and resources for the assigned region, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on all agronomy activities to the Head of Department.
- Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Head of Department based on company priorities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in coffee cultivation or agricultural processes.
- At least 5 years of experience managing and supporting 4C data systems.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles and compliance with due diligence regulations such as EUDR and 4C standards.
- Recent, proven leadership experience in coffee sustainability initiatives and related projects.
- Demonstrated ability to perform logical analysis and successfully deliver complex projects from planning to execution.
