The Head of Commercial Excellence will be a leader to a direct team, and across a variety of cross-functional teams, including Branding & Content Production, Creative Excellence, Brand Management, Insights & Analytics and Customer & Channel Development, as well as external partners, ensuring seamless execution and measurement. This role will be responsible for working collaboratively with the business unit presidents to deliver the digital media and marketing strategy, with a primary focus on accelerating digital capabilities and activation, which includes all elements enabling digital partnerships, content, technology enablement, measurement and analytics . Reporting to the U.S. NHSc CEO, this role will serve as a member of the US Leadership Team and will be responsible for leading the commercial excellence team and ensuring a standard of excellence in support of the business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivers comprehensive guidance and execution to the commercial excellence team enabling streamlined activation, with best-in-class workflows and outputs; leverages special sauce from the brands.
- Engaging with key stakeholders to create and deliver a coordinated brand planning process and ensuring communication of this to the Leadership Team.
- Regular communication and engagement with Leadership Team and BU presidents on Commercial Excellence initiatives.
- Develop and implement a Marketing Excellence program which includes Digital/Multichannel strategies
- Will ensure Data and Analytics, Tools and Automation that enable business monitoring and optimization are applied to support agile execution and on-going visibility to and optimization of the Brand’s plans.
- Help drive consumer, shopper and patient centric approach to the organization
- In collaboration with the business units, develop the operational processes and tools to enable the effective and efficient delivery of key activities
- Design a best-in-class Commercial Excellence organization that leverages talent and resources across internal teams and external partners. Constantly iterate and optimize our internal ways of working as the consumer, creative and media landscape evolves.
This role oversees the following commercial functions:
- Market and Brand Analytics:
- Manages team building powerful insights and analysis that drives action through primary and secondary learning.
- Deep understanding of consumer, patient and shopper attitudes and behavior.
- Provides “center of excellence” for sourcing and interpreting data insights from secondary data sources
- Omnichannel and Digital Operations:
- Responsible for Content and Digital Asset Management –governance, operations, and standardization
- Responsible for the execution and successful implementation of omnichannel capabilities that are data-driven and customer centric
- Partners with Brand/Business teams to transform strategy into action - employ teams, tools and processes to execute and operationalize in line with the brand strategies
- Partners with Information Technology on the delivery of systems and technology to support Commercial’s Digital Projects
- Ensure scalable and efficient processes in place across all brands and markets to support high quality delivery of digital tactics, campaigns, and resulting data, metrics, and insights
- Brand Engagement:
- Manages group of Communications, Digital / Social, PR, Influencer, Experiential and Media experts to support the Brand and Business teams in driving impact and flawless execution.
- Oversees the creation and deployment of strategic guidance and frameworks across Brand Building and Communications throughout the organization (i.e Brand Building the Nestle Way tailored to NHSc).
- Responsible for relationships across key external agency partners (Creative, Media, etc.) and key Digital / Social partners (Google, Meta, TikTok) to drive efficiency and maximum value for the organization.
- Creative Excellence:
- Oversees a team of Creative professionals to support Brand teams across their Creative / Content journey including: Brand Visual Identity / Strategic Design, Creative Direction across campaign planning and Content creation across key touchpoints including Packaging, Digital and Social Content, CRM, In-Store, etc.
- Provides thought-leadership on best-in-class Creative output and a flexible and impactful organizational design that efficiently balances internal and external creative resources as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a subject area related to Business, Marketing, Management or related.
- 15+ years of experience in leadership skills and track record in developing people in particular in managing marketing or strategy teams
- Minimum of 8 years experience in commercial strategy/planning and/or marketing/business operations.
- Minimum of 5 years in cross-functional experience: Category, Customer, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance - with at least 3 out of 5 Commercial Functional Experiences.
- Has successfully delivered on KPIs, especially top and bottom line business results.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
