POSITION SUMMARY:
This position works collaboratively with internal partners such as global transportation, demand/supply planning, warehousing and with external partners such as 3rd party logistics, ocean carriers, drayage carriers to control all processes related to the consistent flow of Nestle controlled ocean, air, and surface traffic to/from foreign destinations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily monitoring, inquiry, resolution, and communication with internal/external parties to facilitate timely movement of in-transit shipments imported/exported to/from US.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and external carriers to resolve issues and exceptions.
- Manage ongoing relationships with import/export vendors, conduct periodic (quarterly or bi-annual) vendor reviews with agreed upon metrics and targets.
- Analyze exception reports to measure and drive transportation performance.
- Communicate with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and trouble shoot exceptions.
- Act as main point of contact and resolve discrepancies and/or inaccuracies related to documentation from import brokers, export forwarders, ocean carriers, and drayage.
- Research and file claims related to damages occurring during international shipping.
- Participate in continuous improvements projects as transportation lead for cross functional projects.
- Review and maintain standard operating procedures for logistics process and systems.
- Partner with trade compliance to identify gaps and corrective action where appropriate.
- Keep abreast of market intelligence research on potential service disruptions, cost fluctuations, and risk exposure and report proposed solutions to leadership team.
- Identify reoccurring booking or shipping challenges and partner with global procurement and origin teams for solutions and resolutions.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- Undergraduate Degree in International Business or related field preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word.
- At least 1 to 3 years’ experience working in international logistics with port terminals, dray carriers, and steam ship lines, freight forwarded is required.
- Dangerous Goods Certification or similar is preferred.
- Proven experience in relationship building, facilitation, implementation skills and influence.
SKILLS:
- Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to overcome obstacles and drive resolution to issues.
- Detailed oriented, well organized and methodical in analysis and execution.
- Able to prioritize and juggle multiple demands and workloads, excels in a high-pressure operations environment.
This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, NJ, Chicago, IL, Palm Beach Gardens, FL or Long Island, NY.
The approximate pay range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
