Position Summary

 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Supply Planning Manager. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead and optimize our Packaging Operation sites' Supply Planning department. Your primary focus will be to drive cross-functional collaboration, capture key business and supply planning insights, and develop integrated, aligned, stable, and agile supply and inventory plans. As the Supply Planning Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager, site Leadership Team, Schedulers, Demand & Supply Planning, Procurement Managers, and external suppliers. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the efficiency of our supply chain operations, meeting Site Service Level targets, enhancing productivity, and achieving total delivery cost targets. You will have the privilege of leading a team of 4 Planners, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of supply planning processes. Your expertise and strategic thinking will play a vital role in driving continuous improvement and delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage designated team including the hiring of new talent, conducting performance reviews/conversations, creating development and succession plans, and providing regular feedback
  • Lead presentations to varying audiences regarding team initiatives, training and issue resolution
  • Achieve performance metrics, prioritize and escalate planning challenges, creating counter measures in order to achieve KPI targets, conducting root cause analysis as needed to identify systemic issues
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning to develop/adjust inputs for production planning and material management flow
  • Participate in the alignment of demand/supply plan to Operations and the S&OP Process
  • Cross Collaborate with the Planning organization to build a feasible and reliable Production Schedule.
  • Manages future capacity/supply constraints (manufacturing, raw materials, packaging) affecting production by engaging stakeholders throughout the planning process, and lead the development of recovery plans
  • Own Direct Materials Purchasing for the site and partner with Procurement in resolution of material deliveries issues from vendors to ensure production plans are executed and aligned with demand
  • Create/maintain Site production requirements to ensure inventory levels and on time customer delivery
  • Escalate information about shortages or excesses of inventory levels to the organization.
  • Responsible for MRP Best Practices for the site including Shelf Life Management and Long Term MRP.
  • Monitor and action plan Factory Attainment and Service Levels for the Site
  • Engage in LEAN, End to End Value Stream continuous improvement initiatives to improve costs and efficiencies throughout our manufacturing and planning process.
  • Work with factory operations team to identify practical issues that may cause plant shutdowns in the future and relay this information back to master production scheduling for long-term planning of product promotions
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

 

Experience & Education Requirements:

 

 

  • Undergraduate degree or several years of experience in a similar capacity in lieu of a degree
  • Proven expertise in manufacturing resource planning and material requirements planning
  • Minimum of 5+ years of planning experience, including material requirements purchasing, planning, and scheduling in a process manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience leading supply planning activities and managing a team of direct reports
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP/APO planning tools
  • Experience in managing master data maintenance processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities (e.g., using formulas)
  • SAP knowledge highly preferred
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, including proficiency in problem-solving and statistical skills using quality tools, with the ability to draw business planning conclusions
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, with a strong drive to effect positive change across different levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and define team priorities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Proactive and results-oriented within a fast-moving dynamic environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $120,000.00 to $135,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
