Position Summary


A pet owner’s most trusted advisor is often their veterinarian. As a Region Manager for our Veterinary Sales Team, you are the leader that drives our brand as these providers consider Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. Proper nutrition is key to optimal dog and cat health. It is an idea carried throughout our entire line of veterinary pet food—specialized nutrition that makes a difference. Pro Plan Veterinary Diets® include products focused on dietary management of dogs and cats with specific health problems.
As a Region Manager, you will establish group objectives, build integrated business plans and manage your resources to deliver assigned volume, share and profit goals. You will accomplish this through sound people leadership and a nurturing eye toward developing your team members and direct reports, infused with effective training, coaching and motivation. Most critically, you will accrue deep knowledge of the Nestlé Purina portfolio so that you can leverage growth opportunities that help us remain an industry leader both on and off the shelf.

 

 

  • Lead region business planning process with team to achieve performance objectives.
  • Develop team member’s skills, promote workforce diversity and upward mobility, to achieve career development and advancement.
  • Continuously manage direct reports through performance evaluations, check-pointing progress, identifying and addressing performance issues, recognizing and reinforcing performance excellence and evaluating year-end results and performance.
  • Accurately forecast projected monthly and annual sales volume for the region.
  • Identify profitable opportunities to grow incremental sales / share by working with Veterinary clinics.
  • Requires multi-functional interaction within Nestle Pet: Account Managers, Finance, Category Development, Marketing, Market Development Organization, Supply Chain, Order Revenue Management Leadership Team and HR.


LOCATION: South Central

Must be willing to reside in or relocate to at least one of the following areas: DFW (Dallas Fort Worth and suburbs) Houston, San Antonio or Austin. Location near a major airport is preferred.
Travel: This role requires up to 60% travel as business needs require

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience is required
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience is required

                                                                                                                 

Other

  • Outside sales experience is preferred
  • Direct sales people management is preferred
  • You are required to have a valid state driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record and carry automobile insurance in the following amounts:   
    • $100,000 bodily injury liability per person
    • $300,000 bodily injury liability per occurrence
    • $50,000 property damage
  • Must be able to travel, including overnight as needed to manage the assigned region.
  • You are required to have reliable transportation in order to manage the assigned region.
  • In order to be considered for this role, you must be willing to relocate:
    • If you currently reside in the region, you may need to be open to relocate for future advancement opportunities.
    • If you currently do not reside in the region, you will need to relocate to the region upon offer acceptance and for future advancement opportunities.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $115,000 to $150,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.  Incentives and/or benefit packages may vary depending on the position.
