Position summary

Ensuring supply and adding value to the Business through agricultural supplier development activities and through mitigating quality risks related to primary production at supplier and farmer level.

A Day in the Life of a Purchasing Agronomist

  •  Support implementation of procurement sourcing strategy in close collaboration with Strategic Buyer
  • Ensure availability and supply of planned raw material quantities
  • Ensure food safety & quality of raw materials (i.e. contaminants within norms)
  • Develop, support and manage suppliers for implementation of contract farming and GAP (Good Agricultural Practices)
  • Implement supplier development projects fully aligned to procurement strategies and the 
  • Business needs (NPDI, quality improvement, savings, organic, new raw materials, creating shared value projects)
  • Ensure the agreed service level with internal stakeholders
  • Identify and propose simplifications in Material portfolio, and new material opportunities in existing suppliers
  • Share information and align with agronomist colleagues located in other markets in Europe

What will make you successful?

University degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary or similar.
More than 5 years’ experience in similar role.
Strong Experience in agricultural production and good agricultural practices.
Demonstrate ability to ensure supply and to add value to the Business
Good Agricultural Practices
Insight in post-harvest practices and primary processing at supplier factories
Fluent English
