Position Snapshot :

  • Permanent position
  • Position based in Issy-les-Moulineaux - FRANCE 
  • Master degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Dietetics or Biology
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Regulatory and Scientific Affairs  in the Food industry in an international context 
  • Fluency in English and French required

Position summary :

As a Head of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Europe, you will lead the function at zone level to ensure that the Nestlé Waters Regulatory & Scientific Affairs strategy is consistently implemented in the local organisation. You act as a  business partner and help navigate in the regulatory uncertainty to create business opportunities. Agile and business focused, in line with Nestlé Water SBU advocacy strategy, you influence and strategically negotiate with external stakeholders to shape the regulatory environment and to support Nestlé Waters business growth. You lead regulatory risk assessments at the early stage of I&R product development, and contribute to launch of innovative products locally, regionally. You assure delivery of safe, compliant and attractive products with all relevant functions as a key contribution to maintain consumer trust in our brands and services.

 

A day in the life of a Head of Regulatory and Scientif Affairs Europe :

  • Communicate relevant regulatory trends impacting the Business strategies, and partner proactively with the business in identiying opportunities when possible.                
  • Identify regulatory solutions to potentially accelerate or support the business growth. Contribute directly to business growth by defining a regulatory strategy and a roadmap for the zone EUR: ensure regulatory developments and trends are monitored, and regulatory risks are assessed, communicated internally and mitigated early enough to ensure product compliance and support business growth.                 
  • Coordinate the markets in the zone: provide technical assistance to Markets in upon request  (category-specific or assigned topics) and ensure compliance processes are implemented                 
  • Engage in Advocacy in line with SBU strategy  to influence and to shape the regulatory framework in favour of I&R trends, when feasible, appropriate, and substantiated.                
  • Issues management with  SBU and other functions at Zone and CT-RSA. Participate to NW zone EUR IRT           
  • Analyse complex regulatory frame and conceptualise regulatory opportunities for new product  development at early stage of I&R in the region (through knowledge from competitive benchmarking and new regulatory developments).

  • Able to communicate, convince and negotiate  clearly with stakeholders showing  good moderation skills.
  • Able to coordinate and lead  multi-disclinary team towards common objectives across functions.      
  • Able to set strategy for the regulatory activities.                                               
  • Insight to bridge adequately science, business, technology and legislation
  • Professional experience in industry associations and/or governmental bodies.
  • Recognised leadership skills.
  • Masters knowledge of regulatory  across several different business categories 
  • Experience in building and implementing strategy in particular areas.
  • Experienced in crisis management.
