Position Summar

 

As Senior Legal Counsel - Data Privacy, you will lead the NW&PB data privacy program globally, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other applicable laws and regulations, as well as NW&PB standards. You will manage privacy risks and provide strategic legal advice on digital, data, AI, and innovation initiatives, while acting as Data Protection Officer and trusted advisor to business stakeholders. 

This role reports to the Head of General Counsel NWPB, based in Paris. 

 

What are the responsibilities?  

 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and governance frameworks. 

  • Provide practical legal advice on privacy, digital law, AI, and data-driven projects. 

  • Support projects from the design stage, ensuring compliance through Privacy by Design and DPIA processes. 

  • Draft, review, and negotiate data protection clauses, agreements, and related contracts. 

  • Conduct privacy audits and monitor remediation plans. 

  • Manage personal data breaches, investigations, and corrective actions. 

  • Lead interactions with regulatory authorities, including CNIL. 

  • Deliver training and awareness programs to strengthen the privacy culture across the organization. 

  • Manage outside counsel network and service provider in this area. 

 

What will make you successful?  

  

  • 5-8 years of experience in data protection, privacy, and digital law within multinational organizations and/or law firms. 

  • Strong expertise in GDPR compliance, privacy governance, risk management, and regulatory investigations. 

  • DPO and/or CIPP/E certification is a strong plus. 

  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Strong analytical and risk management skills. 

  • Business partnering mindset with a pragmatic approach. 

  • High integrity, autonomy, and ability to operate in complex environments
