We are looking for a Scientist with the scientific expertise in the field of dairy and lipids for Ice Cream category to be part of our exciting R&D team in Singapore. In this role, you will provide technical guidance to deliver innovative and competitive products/processes/systems in support of NDU Ice Cream projects and will personally lead complex formulation I2L projects as assigned from end to end.

A day in the life of...

  • Provide expertise in the field of dairy and lipids for Ice Cream category
  • Consolidate long-term strategy and to propose projects and activities in line with NDU Ice Cream category priorities
  • Lead complex projects with minimal supervision and drive it until completion
  • Plan, organize and carry out experiments and trials in the pilot plant and / or creative kitchen to achieve the objectives
  • Personally suggest, develop and improve prototypes at bench top level then coordinate scale up in local pilot plant, co-manufacturer or markets
  • Complete the project by submitting timely data and documents
  • Support the IP fortress in order to increase the competitive advantage by offering product
  • Ideas / processes/ innovative technologies
  • Extend knowledge of ice cream formulations and recipes to review and approve use of existing and new raw materials
  • Provide technical assistance to Market Application Groups and factories
  • Monitor the technologies in the field of expertise to expand the knowledge (also in other food categories).  Be the voice to provide the information to and take information from Nestlé Expert Network
  • Work with external partners for open innovation in the field of ice cream formulation and recipe development
  • Represent for categories interest through expert network
  • Fulfill each of the tasks described above in accordance with the requirements of the quality management system, food security, personnel security and the environment which are applicable in NPTC Bakersfield and aligned with Nestlé

What will make you successful

  • Minimum of MS in Food Science or equivalent
  • Specialization in dairy, lipids or carbohydrates PhD preferred
  • 10 years’ experience working as specialist/expert in related field of study
  • 7 years’ experience as Scientist in R&D or Application Group
  • 7 years’ experience in ice cream R&D or Application Group
