The Associate Chemist is responsible in carrying out testing of samples with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring adherence to procedures in both quality and timeliness. Takes proactive measures to maintain equipment in optimal condition and verifies methods for their intended use, meticulously documenting all processes in accordance with quality system and accreditation requirements. Actively seeks opportunities to enhance skills and competencies, aligning with the needs of respective sections and following the development plan.

 

 

A day in the life of an Associate Chemist...

  1. Conduct the analysis according to the plan in order to meet TAT
  2. Perform data processing and result validation 
  3. Perform ICP according to the schedule
  4. Master Coach (Level 5): Train new analysts for method
    Trainer (Level 4): Support master coach for the training to new analyst
  5. Lead the root cause analysis for the respective method in-charge/instrumentation with the support from Team Member
  6. Particpate  in audits and  be main person responsible for closing gap with the support from team members. Act as Internal Auditor for the internal method audit
  7. Main person responsible for reviewing the Technical documentation with the support from Team member
  8. Liasing with vendor (equipment and analytical standard etc)
  9. Liasing with internal and external customer for any enquiry or result follow up
  10. Inventory management to ensure no disruption supply to analysis
  11. Regularly perform 5S
  12. Actively involve in safety activities 
  13. Lead or drive the lean improvement projects/initiatives that aim to improve cost, labor hour and workflow.
  14. Taking up the additional functional appointments eg safety, A2M
  15. In charge of the instrument Preventive Maintenance/Calibration where applicable
  16. Involved in method validation/verification with the support from Chemist/Lab Manager where necessary

 

What Will Make You Successful...

  • Experience in at least one key analytical technique
  • Experience in at least one contaminant analytical technique and knowledge of Quality System and Good Lab Practice
  • Working experience in analytical lab at least 4 years and above
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food sciences, Analytical sciences
