We are looking for an Associate Microbiology Specialist to join our R&D food safety and quality management team. In this role, you will perform routine laboratory work to support the microbiology laboratory operations. In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project initiatives.

A day in the life of...

  • Perform routine laboratory operations to support the laboratory environment; Planning, execution and deliver results on time for completion of operations and trials/tests together with relevant colleagues
  • Follow up on results and notify if there is out of specification, participation in the evaluation of results
  • Manage Outsource Samples 
  • Perform set up, configure, routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment.
  • Control stocks of materials and chemical agents
  • Follow standards procedures to perform routine biological tests, operate equipment and prepare in house media
  • Assist in laboratory analytical monitoring, proficiency tests and Good Laboratory Practice;
  • Support rapid analytical method implementation;
  • Support performance of root cause analysis in case of poor results and in applying corrective action.
  • Compile research data and reports of test results
  • Creation /Revision of SOPs, HIRAC/work instructions related to Microbiology laboratory
  • Promote and support cross-fertilization of NCE best practices, knowledge, standards and improvements.
  • Strive for Zero Defect & No Waste
  • Compliance with practices and procedures defined by Nestlé Good Manufacturing Practices, Nestlé Good Laboratory Practices, Nestlé Integrated Management System (Including Nestlé Quality Management System) and local regulatory requirements
  • Maintenance of reference organisms
  • Plan the ICP schedule of equipment when required;
  • Ensure adequate supplies for laboratory testing through procurement and inventory
  • Have a good understanding of the 5S methodology and able to transform an area using the 5S methodology

What will make you successful

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or Food Science degree with at least 2 years of microbiology laboratory experience in Food Manufacturing / Pharma industries or equivalent
  • Experience in the laboratory or analytical environment
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams and different initiatives
  • Establishing networks with peers
