The Nestlé Product Technology Centre (NPTC) is the global leading Centre for ideation, creation & renovation of new & existing products and services for beverages consumed in-home and out-of-home. Our mission is to delight the consumer wherever, whenever, however by delivering moments of genuine pleasure and indulgence – to achieve this we are committed to attracting and developing the right people. Our Centre is spread across 3 locations, Switzerland, US (Ohio) and Singapore.

 

To complete our Coffee Innovation team we are looking for a Senior Innovation Insight Specialist – Coffee Focused to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying actionable and differentiating consumer insight for brands like NESCAFÉ, the world’s No.1 coffee brand and our recent coffee company acquisitions. You will champion this insight and help guide its translation into competitive product propositions, which are meaningful for consumers, the markets who launch the strategic development of the brand. You will need to be a great people person, able to collaborate with peers and stakeholders including, Global Brand teams, Ideation & Concept Generation teams, Project Managers, Technical teams and teams in each local market.

 

A day in the life of...

  • Drive consumer-centric mindset and consumer understanding of the coffee category (sourcing as well relevant consumer knowledge from markets/Strategic Business Unit) in support of the business strategy
  • Be a strong team player in cross-functional project teams, providing full innovation CI expertise and leading I&R consumer activities:
    • Define consumer dimensions (consumer target, insight & opportunity area) in the context of global business strategy.
    • Support ideation, concept development & exploration, including (where relevant) services & new business models, translating meaningful consumer needs into winning propositions
    • Plan and execute consumer research, using the best combination of traditional and new research methodologies (including result analysis, reporting and presentation as relevant)
  • Help to identify new strategic business opportunities, championing consumer trends and social listening.
  • Build and share knowledge, provide internal trainings, network with Consumer Insight community.
  • Drive continuous improvements and agility in consumer methods
  • Be a strong team player and support our other NPTC consumer specialists across locations (USA & Switzerland) to ensure superior innovation CI skills

What will make you successful

  • Bachelors’ Degree with a minimum 10 years of experience in consumer insight, with exposure to a variety of consumer techniques (qualitative and quantitative) ideally with an innovation focus and with experience in a market team.
  • Open-minded, curious and proactive with an entrepreneurial mindset. Open to try out new techniques and lead the piloting of new platforms and methods for NPTC Coffee.
  • Highly developed skills to identify & translate consumer insights into meaningful innovation
  • Strong team player, excellent communication/relational and stakeholder management skills
  • Good knowledge of statistics
  • Knowledge/awareness in sensory evaluation
